Vatican's ongoing Crisis

There is a real crisis afflicting the Catholic Church and in particular, the Vatican.

One day its Ireland, the next it's Germany, then Austria, then the Netherlands, not to mention the USA and of course Australia. The sexual scandals and goings-on have focused attention on Catholic bishops in these countries and their leadership over the past twenty to thirty years.
The massive cover-ups and secrecy that have been part of the Church's life at the top with the bishops and priests is now all coming out like giant puss that is oozing out from a nasty wound.
It seems that in Ireland, the cardinal in Northern Ireland has been found out, having been involved in something that looks terribly bizarre involving secrecy and victims of abuse. And yet, he is now trying to stonewall the whole thing, that happened 30 years ago.

In Germany a massive abuse case has been uncovered now which has left the Church authorities reeling there. Another case of priests and young students.

And still the Vatican doesn't seem to get it. Why is it, when all these horrendous matters unfold in the press and on TV, the Vatican is slow to react and condemn the abhorrent acts of priests and the laziness and silence of its bishops in many instances?

in Ireland, s few bishops have offered to resign, but some have not and it seems thet are holding on in the hope of not having to go. But why does the Vatican just not sack them? Why these long delays when the lives of good and faithful Catholics have been ruined and tortured?

The silence is deafening from the Vatican. It still seems to live in a world that is distant from the rest of us.

The recent episode of the seminarian who procurred young men for one of the 'Gentlemen of the Pontiff' is an horrendous example. Does this really mean that the Vatican has been covering up for ages and ages? If we go back to the past there have been shocking examples of moral laxity and decrepitude going on there. But in those distant days, there was no media, no reporters, no need to expose what was happening. It was all going on without scrutiny and examination under a media microscope.

Today all the world looks in at the Vatican, and frankly, does not like what it sees.

Where holiness and sanctity ought be the summit of all that is said and done there, what we see only seems to be the opposite and this is very troubling.

There needs to be a root and branch cleaning out of many bishops who have failed. The present pope once said the evil had to be cleansed and only a few days ago a prominent exorcist priest said that Satan was working there. This is horrific and scandalous.

It is indeed time for Christianity to reassert itself and the message of the Founder of the whole show was brought back into full force.
