Part Two of Brian Cox's Solar System

Last night (March 14) the BBC showed the second part of Brian Cox's Solar System.

And to be very frank, this was a total flop. It was a fraud.
Indeed the whole thesis of the programme, billed as the story of the origin of the Universe, was a shallow and wooly exposition of nothing.

This programme was going to reveal the arguments of the Big Bang theory of the origins of the universe. It was a total failure -

The basic premise put forward by Cox was that the universe is a result of ORDER OUT OF CHAOS. And for sixty minutes the viewer was treated to wooly thinking, some theoretical mumbo-jumbo and some very beautiful shots of Saturn, its rings and its moons.

If ever there was a major flaw in a television programme, then this was it. I was glued to my lounge chair, nibbling away at some licorice alsorts and was waiting for the piece de resistance from Cox as to where we all came from and how this all happened.

I was disappointed and totally shocked by what he put forward.

Basically he argued that all of the 'order' of the universe and out own solar system came from'chaos'.
And what exactly did he say or show to support his arguments?

Well, we were told that 5 billion years ago this was all formed from a nebula, from a huge amount of solar dust that drifted across space and then coalesced into the solar system.

He then said that he 'THOUGHT' there was an explosion of a star. Thought!!!!! Well, there's the first major error from the scientist. I have another thought. No, it did not.

He went on to tell us that the 'planets formed in a clockwork pattern, the cloud collapsed and 'chaos into order began'.

Well, it was all just so simple and that's how we all came to be, planets and stars and comets and asteroids and everything there is.

Order out of chaos!!!!

Well I have taken a handful of sand, thrown it in the air and it all came down and scattered everywhere - CHAOS from a hand.

Professor Cox went on to tell us that 3.6 billion years back the planets all drifted in a gravitational surge.
100 million years ago, the place was like a 'shooting gallery' of comets and this is when the craters were created.
There was even a 'late heavy bombardment' (not like Iraq or Afghanistan), and it was at this time that water was delivered.

So that is how the oceans were created then?????

He went on to tell us that there was a thing called 'orbital resonance', a nice phrase that left me cold. But he told us that 'gravity can carve order out of chaos' - just like that. But when I tested this on my sand, only chaos resulted.

Towards the end, after many pictures of Saturn's amazing moons, we were told that there was barren rock on earth that supported water and then life was created.

AH - so that's where we came from - just like that. Life was created.

But Cox did not tell us how life was created or even when. He did not say how the insects, the animals, the arctic and antarctic were created. He did not say when the first human appeared, when the first person walked the planet Earth. He did not say how we are all the same, with hearts and minds and veins and eyes and yes, souls that keep us all living and breathing.

But here we are - order out of chaos, just like that!!

WHAT A FARCE.
WHAT A FRAUD THEORY OF THE CREATION OF THE UNIVERSE.

If you are going to promote a theory, albeit fanciful, then give factual evidence that stands uop and can be beklieved, can be assessed rationally and with argument.

But to say all this just happened by 'orbital resonance' and by a 'gravitational surge' just boggles the mind, and an ordered mind at that.

Sorry Professor but last night's programme was a FLOP.
You failed. No use standing in the middle of an oncoming twister and yelling 'it's the end of the world' when we know it isn't. Because, last night, you were out of your depth and led the viewers on a merry chase that was shallow with arguments and devoid of any thorough, cogent and intelligent thesis.

Pretty pictures of Saturn's rings and moons may be well and good.
But don't try to tell us that the whole universe, this solar system and all its detailed beauty and complexity and order came from chaos.

It did not.

It came from an intelligent designer.

Last night the Big Bang theory showed us all once again that it is a BIG FRAUD.
